Interiew an Entrepreneur: Avon

Avon Legazpi started last July 18, 2011 as operator for 2 months, but the AVON company already existed in the Philippines in early 1990’s in direct selling of beauty products. Beauty Font become in partners with AVON and later on bought it here in Philippines.

Mrs.Barbudo Started as Certified Beauty Counselor to operator in AVON Legazpi Branch with the help of her up line. Before she entered AVON, she was a teacher; she started as full-timer in 1995. She loved working at AVON because she can make money here anytime rather than working at government owned agencies with a fixed time of having a salary and fixed time of work hours, unlike in AVON she can choose whether to work at the office or not. Avon started in New York in 1898, the founder of AVON is a lady which is Ms. Levy Foster.

Avon’s first products to sell are books then later on, one of its operators decided to add perfume products to sell then added some beauty product. AVON started the direct selling in other places until it reached Philippines. In 1978, the name of AVON was named AVON by Beauty Font. She considered that one of the very prominent problems at AVON is the accumulation of earnings, products are only considered as sold when earnings are totally collected. She stated that in order to avoid this kind of problem, you’ll have to avoid those types of people who has a history of bad financial records or people who do not pay at all. Recently it was named AVON Company for Women, but later on they decided to add some products for men. Their products are now for men, women, kids, home appliances, & etc. Every month they have new products introduced in the market with their goal of AVON being a “one-stop shop” for the customers.

A sales leader can have as many franchise dealers or groups as she wants. Her proceeds are dependent on the performance of her franchise dealers added with her total sales will amount to her income.
